President (Education & Engagement): Jonathan Wright

The President (Education & Engagement) is your voice at the highest level inside UCS and outside. The President puts across your view when a lot of the key decisions are made about your education and is focused on improving things for you. The President also has ultimate responsibility for the Union and its services.
The President regularly meets the Provost and Deputy Provosts of the University and also the local MP to discuss educational issues that affect the students of UCS.
The President sits on a number of boards and committees at UCS including:
• UCS Academic Board
• UCS Joint Academic Committee
• Student Experience Committee
• Learning Teaching and Assessment Group
• Policies and Procedures Group
• Implementing Learning and Teaching Strategies (ILTS)
The President is a member of the UCS Union Trustee Board and the Chair of the UCS Union Executive Committee, helping to make both strategic and operational decisions on how UCS Union is governed and how it reacts to the demands of students.
The President is also Chair of the Board of Directors for Suffolk Union Services Limited, the union’s commercial arm that oversees the running of Kai, Theta and the Campus Shop.
The President serves for a 1 year term and can serve for a maximum of two years. The President is elected in a campus wide elected which all UCS students are invited to vote in.
