Kai Bar and Restaurant

Kai is the exciting student bar and restaurant on the Ipswich waterfront that offers stunning views of the marina.

Located in the James Hehir Building, University Avenue (along the Waterfront), Kai is open seven days per week and is also open to the general public.

Kai is operated by UCS Union and is open to the general public with UCS students receiving a student discount on all our food, drink and entry prices. Profits from the venue contribute towards other services offered by the Union.

Kai serves a delicious range of food, freshly cooked from locally sourced ingredients, with plenty of healthy and vegetarian options on offer. New to 2012 is the new lunchtime deal, with meals on offer at 2 for £6.95!

Kai serves food until 8pm everyday with special offers throughout the week, like our Monday Evening Steak Nights, our Thursday Curry Deal and the All Day Sunday Roast every weekend!

Kai also shows live sports on our large projector and three plasma TV screens so whether it’s football, rugby or even the Olympics, it’s sure to be showing at Kai!

Late Night

In the evening, the bar becomes a buzzing venue with Comedy Nights, Live Music, Karaoke, Open Mic Sessions, and a Weekly Pub Quiz every Sunday at 7pm.

Every Tuesday is Games Night with Free Pool from 6pm, Poker from 7pm, Giant Jenga and football on our projector & plasma screens, it’s bound to be a riot!

Our favourite fancy dress party, Flirt! is a national student night entertaining 30,000 party-goers across the country!
